{"id":2,"date":"2008-12-16T12:25:39","date_gmt":"2008-12-16T06:25:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pilgrimsprogress.ca\/wordpress\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2020-07-02T07:22:34","modified_gmt":"2020-07-02T02:22:34","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/pilgrimsprogress.ca\/?page_id=2","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Martin Buck is a &#8216;cradle Anglican&#8217; who came to his own faith in the early 70s with the help of Irene who became his life partner in what was then known as the <a title=\"Wikipedia article on Jesus People Movement\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jesus_movement\">Jesus People movement<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to The Rt. Rev. Morse Goodman, the then <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Anglican_Diocese_of_Calgary\">Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of Calgary<\/a>, Martin and other &#8216;Jesus Freaks&#8217; were invited to return to the Anglican Church. Here they were allowed and encouraged to lead their own services and act as &#8216;Bishop&#8217;s delegates&#8217; at the annual synod.<\/p>\n<p>Martin and Irene are now members of the United Methodist Church.
